Flag Water Iris is one of the most common
marginals and pond
plants that people choose for their water garden pond. Yellow Flag
Water Iris usually blooms from late May to late July and has
attractive bright yellow flowers. It's green foliage is sword
shaped and goes great in the background of a garden pond to add
some height and colour. Water iris can grow from 3-5' tall and
goes great around the pond and is one of the most popular water
garden plants among pond owners. What's nice about the yellow Flag
water iris is that it's a marginal aquatic perennial and will come
up year after year. Water iris grows best in full sun and should
be placed in your pond in water up to 4" deep. Yellow flag water
iris is very easy to grow and little care is needed for these
water plants. Trimming your yellow flag water iris back before
winter arrives to remove dead leaves is about all you need to do.
If you want you can fertilize your water iris but grows very well
from the nutrients found in your pond water.
