Nymphaea Mexicana– Yellow Hardy Water Lilies For Sale
The Mexicana yellow hardy water lily, also known as the Mexican water lily, yellow water lily, banana water lily and sun lotus is a very free-flowering water lily . This yellow water lily has beautiful bright yellow flowers that often stick out of the water like tropical water lilies. The yellow water lily flowers also have a lemony fragrance to them, star shaped and about 5-6″. The lily pad leaves are green 6-8″ in diameter with some purple blotches. As always hardy water lilies grows best in full sun, partial shade is tolerated but full sun is recommended.
The Mexicana water lily produces runners that have what resembles small clusters of bananas which make new water lily plants. This is why it’s also known as the banana water lily. The Mexicana water lily produces runners much like strawberry plants do.
