Acorous calamus variegatus
 Variegated
sweetflag is a very popular marginal plant to place around your
pond. It's unique and attractive green and white creamy stripes
adds to the beauty of this pond plant. It is quite similar to the
yellow flag water iris
and
blue flag water iris versicolor but without the stripe. Variegated Sweetflag can grow between 3-6 feet tall. This marginal plant
looks amazing around water gardens in the background. Full sun is
recommended and variegated sweetflag should be planted in less
then 8 inches of water. It requires very moist soil and grows well
in bog gardens. If you want to control the growth of this marginal
pond plant then grow them in containers to restrict their growth.
